Q.
Hi, can I use the new Tui Citrus & Fruit Mix for established plants? If so, what application rate would I use? Thank you.
Shirley Cairns
A.
Hi Shirley, yes, it can be used as a mulch around existing trees, in pots or in the garden.
Make sure the weeds/grass are removed from around the base of the tree and the mix is applied to soil. That way the tree will get the benefit of all of the nutrients, organic matter (bark and peat) and wetting agent in the mix. Apply as you would a mulch to the garden, in a 5cm layer around the tree.

I have a 2 yr old avo and 2yr old cherymoya. How should I fertilise please?
Colin Horsfall
Hi Colin, thanks for getting in touch. Regular feeding of avocados should start after one year of growth. Feed in late winter and early summer. For your cherimoya, feed every three-four months from mid-winter. Tui NovaTec Premium is suitable for both fruit trees. Happy growing ^Tui Team
