Tui Organic Potting Mix is BioGro certified, and provides your potted plants with a 100% organic growing medium. Crafted from natural resources including bark fines, peat and pumice, with the healthy additions of a slow release fertiliser and disease suppressant, this mix is designed to ensure your potted plants prosper.

Directions for use

Directions for potting new plants

  • Water plants thoroughly before potting and allow to drain.
  • Partly fill your container with Tui Organic Potting Mix.
  • Gently loosen the root ball and position the plant in the container.
  • Fill your container with Tui Organic Potting Mix up to 3cm from the top.
  • Tap the container gently on the ground to settle the mix.
  • Press soil gently around base of plant.
  • Water your plant well.

Container plants should be regularly re-potted into containers of fresh potting mix.

Directions for re-potting plants

  • Your new container should be approximately 25mm wider than the root ball of the plant.
  • Water plants thoroughly before re-potting and allow to drain.
  • Partly fill your container with Tui Organic Potting Mix.
  • Turn the plant out of its current container and loosen the root ball gently, removing any loose roots or plant material.
  • Position the plant in the new container.
  • Fill your container with Tui Organic Potting Mix up to 3cm from the top.
  • The soil should be at the same level on the plant as it was in the previous container.
  • Press soil gently around base of plant. Water your plant well.
  • Keep moist until the plant is established.

To get the most from your potted plants we recommend supplementary feeding with a suitable fertiliser.

If plants start shedding leaves and the root ball is dense, they should be re-potted into a larger container.
