Can I spray my lemon tree with copper if it has fruit on it?

  Taranaki
  October

Q.

Hi Tui, can I spray my lemon tree with copper if it has fruit on it or do I have to wait until the fruiting has finished? Thanks.

Marilyn Kivell

A.

Hi Marilyn, you can spray your citrus with fruit on the tree. Stop spraying copper while the plant is flowering, but continue spraying to prevent verrucosis (Citrus Scab) once the petals have dropped and the fruit set. The Tui Team.
