Q.
We have just put lawn fertiliser on the lawn which contains moss killer, can we put lawn clippings from the first couple mows into compost bin?
Jill
A.
- It is safe to compost lawn clippings from lawns fertilised with lawn fertiliser that contains moss control, which is sulphate of iron.
- The only time you wouldn't use the lawn clippings for composting is if you have used a weed and feed product or a fertiliser that contains a selective broadleaf weed control product, such as Tui LawnForce Weedkill slow release fertiliser.
