Hi we live in Canterbury. Can you give us a list of lettuce varieties and what time of year to plant them so that we can grow lettuce right through the year?

Hi Mandy, now (spring) you can plant hearting iceberg types of lettuce, frilly oak leaved lettuces, cos lettuce and all the salad greens such as mizuna, rocket and mibuna. Once you get to mid-summer stop planting the hearting types, they don't like excessive heat. Cos and Little Gem lettuce can be planted all year round. Enjoy!
