When poppies have finished flowering what can I do with the foliage?

Q.

When poppies have finished flowering what can I do with all the foliage left behind?

Barbara Corcoran

A.

Hi Barbara, you can either leave the leaves to wilt and die, or pull the plants out and scatter the seeds which will be in the old flower heads around the garden. They take a few months to brown off and die if left in the garden. Happy gardening from the Tui Team.
