Why is Tui Potato Food not recommended for pots and containers?

  Nelson

Q.

I purchased 1.5kg bag of Tui Potato Food by courier from Mitre 10. When I read the bag before opening it, I saw that ‘it is not recommended for containers or pots’. Can you please advise why that is an issue for containers or pots, and what alternatives you recommend? Many thanks.

Hi Bill

Tui Potato Food is a blended fertiliser. Blended fertilisers are too concentrated for pots and containers (confined spaces) as there is no control mechanism - once applied it starts releasing the nutrients and can feed plants too quickly. For pots and containers use Tui Enrich Vege, Tomato & Herb controlled release fertiliser or Tui NovaTec Premium, which is specially developed for growing plants in pots and containers. It releases only when the plant is actively growing and lasts for up to six months.

Thanks, Tui Team.
