Hi Tui, can avocados be grown in the Timaru/Temuka area? We do get heavy frosts.

Avocados grow well in areas with a mild winter and a warm climate. Some hardier varieties can be grown in cooler parts of the country, but generally if you have long, cold winters avocados wont do very well.
