Hi Tui, can I grow avocado in a half barrel? Is there something like a dwarf avocado tree? Thanks.

There is a dwarf avocado, but only for commercial production at the moment. It hasn’t made it on to the market for the home gardener, if it has, there are waiting lists!

Avocados are large trees and eventually it will outgrow the wine barrel. Whether it will ever get to fruiting stage before it outgrows the barrel is hard to say. You're best to plant into the garden.
