Q.
The seed pods which form from the potato flowers have been quite prolific this year. Can these be composted?

Hi Sylvie, as long as the plant material is not infected with any pests or disease that potatoes are susceptible to. You may find that they will sprout and form potatoes in your compost. When your potatoes flower, remove them so that the plants energies go in to producing bigger potatoes, if you leave the flowers which are pollinated (that is why you have seeds) on the plant then the plants energy goes into reproduction and not vegetative growth.
