Do the large brown slugs in my garden eat other slugs or are they eating my plants?

Q.

Hi Tui, do the large light brown slugs in my garden eat other slugs or are they eating my plants?

Hi Eva

They are a carnivorous slug called a tiger or leopard slug and they do eat other slugs, but they also eat cat food, cat and dog feces, rotting vegetation and sometimes plants, but plants aren’t their first choice of food. They feed at night.

Thanks, Tui Team
