How do I stop my dog urinating on my vegetable plants?

  Taranaki
  September

Q.

How do I stop my dog urinating on my vegetable plants?

A.

  • Consider putting a barrier or fence up around your garden so that your dog can't get near it.
  • Bales of straw around the garden might work as a temporary fix until you teach the dog to go elsewhere?
  • You can get automatic sprinklers that are activated by movement that spray water if the dog goes near the garden.
  • Train your dog to urinate in one place, lay some artificial grass or bark in an area of the garden that you don't use and reward the dog with treats every time the dog uses the area, it will become habit.
