Q.
Hi Tui, when is the best time to spray grapes for black rot?
Sherrie

Hi Sherrie
The best time to spray is from bud burst until about four weeks after flowering (spring). A lot will depend upon the conditions at the time as warm wet muggy weather in spring and summer will increase the chance of black rot. One of the best prevention measures is to pick up leaves and fallen diseased fruit that has gone brown and shriveled up in autumn so that the spores cannot overwinter in the soil. Do not compost this material, dispose of by burning or putting in the rubbish. Remove any grape vine wood that may be diseased and burn or dispose of these as well.
Thanks, Tui Team.
