When will my Ballerina apple tree fruit?

  Canterbury
  October

Q.

I have a three year old Ballerina apple tree which is very healthy, in lots of sun, good draining soil but has very few flowers for the second time. It had lots of flowers and fruit in its first year.

Hi Vicki, it can take up to 4-5 years for a new apple tree to get into a regular fruiting cycle. This is quite normal. Ballerina forms a very neat tidy habit, so little pruning will be required, just allow it some time to adjust and get into fruiting mode. In some cases apples can fruit biannually, so this could be a factor as well.
