Q.
Hi Tui, we have an orange tree that is loaded with delicious fruit but unfortunately some of the fruit has split open. What can we do to rectify this problem?

Hi Margaret,
Splitting fruit is caused by irregular watering. If there has been a period of no rain or irrigation and then a period of a lot of rain or irrigation the fruit take up a lot of water and burst. Remove this fruit as it will only rot on the tree. Mulch around the tree to maintain constant soil moisture and provide regular watering.
Thanks, Tui Team
