My magnolia Little Gem leaves have turned brown and dried off this year, although some new shoots are sprouting at base. Sadly one of these shoots looks to be starting to brown off too. What is happening ? Are 7 yrs old and I have 4 others nearby 2 ,in same garden and all these are doing well.. Any ideas appreciated.

Hi Rosie-Marie, the main reasons Little Gem can turn up their toes are poor drainage, wet feet, lack of water or frost. As the winter has been mild this year it may not be frost, therefore it suggests you may have an issue on the soil. If the plants were dry for long periods over summer and autumn it would take this long for the plant to show effects of prolonged dry weather. Regular applications of Tui Organic Seaweed Plant Tonic will give the plant a boost.
