Summer smoothies

Try some refreshing summer smoothies made with Wattie's canned or fresh homegrown fruit. For a classic breakfast smoothie - try the Peach smoothie made with peaches and weetbix. Or for something different - try the Plum, Banana and Ginger Coconut smoothie made with coconut water.

Ingredients:

Breakfast Peach Smoothie

  • 1/2 can Wattie's Peaches Sliced in Clear Fruit Juice, drained or 2-3 homegrown peaches
  • 1 weetbix
  • 1/2 cup mixed frozen berries or 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup natural yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Plum, Banana and Ginger Coconut Smoothie

  • 850g can Watties Black Doris Plums in Syrup, or 2-3 homegrown plums
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
  • banana
  • Handful fresh baby kale or spinach leaves
  • 1 cup coconut water

Method:

Breakfast Peach Smoothie

  1. Remove the stones from the peaches 
  2. Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

Plum, Banana and Ginger Coconut Smoothie

  1. Drain Wattie’s Black Doris Plums and remove the stones, or remove the stones from homegrown plums.
  2. Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

Tips:

Ensure coconut water is chilled before using.
