Hi, I've read cooked food is okay to feed the worms, and other sites say not to. I'm confused. When you say cooked, what food exactly? Is it things like left overs from meals or do you cook the peelings? Thanks.

Hi Beverley, cooked vegetables are fine in worm farms as long as they have not been cooked in fat or oil as this will attract vermin to your garden. Boiled vegetables are fine. It is best to chop food up for the worms so that they break it down quickly. Do not add any cooked meat, dairy products, fat, oil or bread as this attracts vermin. Only add small amounts of citrus peel, tomatoes and onions as these can create an acidic environment in your worm farm, make sure these inputs are mixed with other food. The Tui Team.
