Q.
Hello, I have just bought small bag of Tui Lime as it was recommended by Stump muncher operator to help rot the green mulch left. This is among other plants including a Rhododendron which is a little higher on gentle slope. Is this ok to still use?

Hi Dianna
Avoid putting lime around Rhododendrons, they will turn up their toes. The reason the stump muncher recommended lime is to break down the organic mulch quicker. If applying lime, apply on the down side of the slope so that there is no run off to the rhododendrons. Blood and bone is also good at breaking down organic matter and speeding up decomposition as an alternative.
Thanks, Tui Team
