What do I use to spray weeds in my lawn without affecting the grass?

Q.

Hi, what do I use to spray weeds (ie dandelion) in my lawn without affecting the grass?

Brenda Meldrum

A.

Hi Brenda

Ask at your local garden centre for a selective herbicide, one that controls broadleaf weeds in lawns but doesn’t kill the grass. Your lawn may also benefit from an application of lime as the presence of broadleaf weeds usually indicates that the soil is slightly acidic. Lime will bring the pH back to neutral. Apply Tui Lime to the lawn in late winter, early spring.

Thanks, Tui Team.
