Hi, I have bought two blueberry plants: Blueberry Blue Dawn and Blueberry Blue Magic. Having these two plants close together will help in getting a good harvest in two years. Are they ok for Waikato climate?

Hi John, yes they are ok. Blueberries enjoy slightly acid soil conditions so if you have peaty soil or add peat when planting they will thrive even more.

Make sure they are planted in a sunny position sheltered from the prevailing winds in well drained soil with regular watering over summer and feed with a fertiliser such as Tui Citrus Food or Tui Enrich Fruit, Citrus, Tree & Shrub.
