Q.
My lawn is not growing very well. It is patchy. What can i do to rejuvenate the lawn and when should I do this?

- Autumn and spring are the best times for fixing lawns.
- Feed your lawn with Tui LawnForce New Lawns slow release fertiliser in early spring to stimulate growth. This will thicken the lawn and hopefully the patches will disappear.
- Follow up three months later with Tui LawnForce All Purpose slow release fertiliser.
- If the bare patches are still there in autumn, rake out the dead grass and weed to break up the soil surface.
- Apply Tui Lawn Preparation Mix over the patch 25-30mm deep.
- Firm the area down with the head of the rake or by stamping.
- Re-sow with seed that closely matches the existing lawn. Tui Superstrike Easycare Lawn Seed would be a good choice.
- Lightly cover the seed with Lawn Preparation mix making sure the seed is in contact with the soil so it doesn't dry out during germination.
- Water well and keep moist on a daily basis during the germination period.
- In summer mow on a high setting to give the lawn some protection from temperature extremes.
