DIY Pinecone birdfeeder

Feeding birds is a simple way to increase the number of birds in your garden and provides entertainment for the whole family.

It also provides a regular food source over the colder months when food can be scarce. 

Here’s a quick, easy and fun way to feed birds in your garden this winter.

You'll need

• Pinecones
• String
• Peanut butter
• Butter knife
• Tui Wild Bird Seed Mix or Tui No Sprout Wild Bird Feed

Instructions

1. Tie some string firmly around the top of the pinecone and make a loop at the other end of the string so you can hang it from a tree in your garden. 
2. Use your knife (or your hands) to cover the  pinecone with peanut butter.
3. Pour some birdseed into a shallow bowl and roll your pinecone in the seeds until it’s fully covered.
4. Hang it up in your garden and enjoy watching the  birds come to feed!
