Make your own nutritious fertiliser from organic kitchen and garden waste with the Tui Worm Farm.

The compact design makes the Worm Farm ideal to sit in your garden or on your balcony. With two working trays and a collector tray to collect valuable worm tea, it is easy to assemble and use.

Included with the Tui Worm Farm is a full instruction manual detailing how to set up your Worm Farm, how to feed your worms, managing the worm castings and worm tea, as well as full FAQs to help you on your worm farming journey.

Benefits

  • Compact and easy to use.
  • Natural fertiliser in the form of worm castings and worm tea.
  • Ideal design to sit in your garden or on your balcony.

Directions for use

To assemble

  • Fix the tap to the Collector Tray and tighten firmly with the Nut on the inside (Turn the Tap not the Nut).
  • Attach the four legs making sure they slide firmly into place.
  • Place the Working Tray into the Collector Tray.

to use

  1. Place your worm farm in a cool area, away from full sun.
  2. Place the first working tray onto your worm farm base and add a layer of cardboard onto the base of the tray.
  3. Layer on alternative bedding such as damp shredded cardboard or paper, aged compost or garden soil. Avoid using animal manure.
  4. Spread your worms on top of the bedding. We recommend a minimum of 1000 composting worms. These can be purchased from most garden retailers.
  5. Add a small amount of food scraps over half of the bedding. Cover with a worm blanket, damp newspaper or an old woollen blanket to help keep the worms moist. The worms will eat the food scraps over time. Replace scraps as this happens.
  6. Fit the lid and let the Worm Farm settle for 1-2 days. It can take up to a week for them to start 'working'.
  7. For further full instructions on feeding your worm farm and rotating your working trays, see the instruction manual included.

You can feed your worm farm with kitchen and garden scraps, tea leaves, coffee grounds and crushed egg shells as well as vacuum cleaner dust, hair clippings, and torn up egg cartons, pizza boxes or newspaper. Avoid adding citrus, onions, salad dressing and vinegar as these will impact the pH balance.
